Here is our collection of vintage coat sewing patterns dating from the 1930s to the 1950s. These original designs are listed by year, starting with the earliest, so you can see how silhouettes and styles evolved over these decades.

Sewing a vintage-style coat requires skill and attention to detail, and many of the construction methods are uncommon nowadays. Some of these patterns require bespoke details and construction methods, such as padding and hand stitching. It is these details that give the coats their distinctive look and structure.  Please note that these patterns were originally published without step-by-step instructions. Some of these designs are complicated and will require a high level of sewing experience. We have tried to provide basic construction notes to help you.
