1939 Beach wear. Bust 108 cm (42.5"). PDF

This is a sewing pattern for vintage 1930s beach pyjamas and a long jacket. This beach outfit consists of a sleeveless top and wide-leg trousers. The top is designed to be tucked into the trousers and fastens to them with buttons. It has princess-line seams at the front and back, as well as three buttons at the centre front. The original sketch shows that the neckline and armhole edges are finished with contrasting bias binding. The fabric belt has buttonholes that can be used to fasten the top and trousers together. The trousers have a very relaxed fit, with the crotch cut low on purpose. The accompanying beach jacket has a shawl collar, short cuffed sleeves and patch pockets.
