This is a pattern for an early 1930s men's casual raglan-sleeved shirt. It can be made with either short or long sleeves. It features a breast pocket and topstitching along the main seams. One of the original sketches shows the collar buttoned up and the shirt worn with a tie for playing tennis, but it could also be worn with the collar open for a more casual appearance. The front of the shirt is cut as one piece and the closure is formed by a separate placket facing piece that is folded and stitched in place to create the button stand. Consequently, the shirt does not open at the centre front like a modern shirt does, and it should be worn tucked in.

Available in two original sizes, for these body measurements:

78 cm (30.7")

2. 90 cm (35.4")

This is an excellent pattern , very well presented with lots of useful information and documents. Raglan sleeves are much easier to sew than the usual kind. The pattern could easily be lengthened to make a man’s nightshirt. The help and advice from Rebekah was first-class. Highly recommended!
