1943 Coat. Bust 90 cm (35.4")

This is a mid-length coat pattern from 1943. This autumn coat is decorated with smocking on the front shoulders and back waistline. The smocking gathers the fabric to give the coat shape and definition at the waist. It is a collarless coat with a high, shaped neckline. The centre fronts meet and fasten with a decorative button or toggle, but do not overlap. The sleeves flare slightly at the wrist and then gather into a band.
