1934 Blouse. Bust 96 cm (37.8")
This velvet blouse is designed to be worn over a finer, more delicate long-sleeved blouse. This unique and stylish piece dates from the mid-1930s. It features a V-neckline and a centre-front slit through which a fabric bow is threaded and tied. The blouse is fitted at the waist and fastens on the left-hand side. It is worn with a purchased belt. The cape-like sleeves are short and cut on the bias for a nice fit over the shoulders. This garment was designed to add flair to plain blouses and similar basic items, thereby extending the range of clothing available in a mid-1930s wardrobe.
