1938 Dress. Busts 88 cm to 96 cm (34.6" - 38")
This is a pattern for a summer tennis dress from 1938. It's an easy design to sew. It features front and back yokes, as well as a button opening at the neckline. The straight skirt has a front pleat and two hip pockets. The six darts that shape the bust and join the front yokes are an interesting detail that makes this design a little different. The dress is worn with a purchased belt. The original sketch shows the dress as part of a collection of tennis outfits, described as new and sporty for the decade.
