Vintage sewing patterns in smaller bust sizes

It can be difficult to find original 1930 and 1940s vintage designs for adults in the bust sizes of ~84 cm and 88 cm 84 cm to 88 cm (~33" to 34.6"). Therefore, I present a small selection of dresses, blouses and coats in these sizes. The original pages are shown with the smaller-sized designs identified within a blue frame, and the design's number and bust size are written nearby. This gallery shows the earliest years appearing first, beginning with 1930 and ending with 1940.

Sewing patterns for these designs are available on request; if you see a design you would like to have traced for you (PDF or paper pattern), here is what you need to do.

Please note the year and the design's number, or make a screenshot. Then use the 'In Search Of' contact form or send me a direct email to [email protected].

What pattern sizes are shown?

Garment sizes are most often written as small underlined numbers near the model, or within the original description. They represent the bust or chest size in centimeters. There is no standard size table, they differ by magazine and by year. In Vobachs magazines the bust sizes for a 88 cm bust are coded as 'Gr 0'. In the Beyers magazines, the bust size is underlined next to the model number. For the relevant models, I have annotated the available size to make this easier.
