1931 Housecoat. Chest 112 cm (44"). PDF pattern
Also available as a printed PAPER pattern
This is a pattern of an original early 1930s men's housecoat with a shawl collar. The front features internal pockets, while the sleeves are distinguished by their turned-back cuffs. The coat can be fastened with decorative corded closures, as illustrated in the 1931 sketch. As an alternative option, you could create a fabric belt and tie it into a simple knot at the front.
When styling the coat, it is recommended that you consider fabrics such as printed silk, medium-weight jacquard, light wools and satins. The addition of a contrasting shawl collar would also enhance the elegance of the piece.
