An autumn coat pattern from 1943. It is decorated with smocking on the front shoulders and back waistline. The smocking helps give the coat shape and definition at the waist. This is a collarless coat with a high and shaped neckline. The centre fronts meet together and are fastened with a decorative button/toggle, but they do not overlap. The sleeves flare slightly at the wrist and then gather into a band.
