1934 Blouse. Bust 96 cm (37.8"). PDF pattern.
This is a velvet blouse that is designed to be worn over a finer, more delicate long-sleeved blouse. This unique and stylish piece dates from the 1930s. It has a V-neckline and a slit at the centre front through which a fabric bow is threaded and tied. The blouse is fitted at the waist and has a left-hand side fastening. It is worn with a purchased belt. The cape-like sleeves are short, and are cut on the bias to shape nicely over the shoulders. This garment was designed to add flair to basic pieces such as plain blouses, thereby extending the range of clothing available in a mid-1930s wardrobe.
