1939 Beach wear. Bust 108 cm (42.5")
Also available as a printed PAPER pattern
This 1930s beach pyjama set comprises a sleeveless top and wide-leg
trousers. The top is designed to be tucked into the trousers and can
fasten to them with buttons. The top has princess-line seams at the
front and back and three buttons at the centre front. The original
sketch shows that the neckline and armhole edges are finished with
contrasting bias binding. The fabric belt has buttonholes that can be
used to fasten the top and trousers together. The trousers have a very
relaxed fit and the crotch is intentionally cut low. The accompanying
beach jacket has a shawl collar, short sleeves with a cuff and patch
pockets.
