1939 Dress pattern in 88 cm/ 34.6" or 96 cm/ 37.8" bust
An afternoon dress from 1939. The low-set sleeves have a lovely wide flared shape at the ends. The centre front of the skirt has a gore that is also flared- this will flow nicely if a soft rayon or crepe fabric is chosen. On top of the dress a wide fabric belt is draped around the hips. This pattern will make a fabulous outfit when either made from a plain or a patterned fabric, here one of the original sketches shows the design made in a fabric with small dots.
